Course HighlightsPerhaps the most remarkable feature of this course was that, once again, it had no exams. Instead, all of the grading and much of the learning was here based on 12 weekly problem sets. These consisted of three fairly challenging problems apiece, and were aided not only by a textbook that we followed rather loosely but also by frequent handouts of a numerical or graphical sort.
Course DescriptionThis course analyzed the basic techniques for the efficient numerical solution of problems in science and engineering. Topics spanned root finding, interpolation, approximation of functions, integration, differential equations and direct and iterative methods in linear algebra.Mathematics |
