羊毛及綿之材質標示章

1. Context 

 The label of pure wool was coined in 1964.  In 1970 the label of mixed wool was added.  The labels signify that the wool products match the standard of the International Wool Bureau and are guaranteed for their fine quality. 

     Cotton has been widely favored by the consumer.  Its market share has been rising in the past few years.  It can be attributed to the following three reasons: 1. the increased rate of using 100% cotton; 2. the increased rate of using mixed cotton products that contain high percentage of cotton; 3. mixed cotton products have replaced 100% artificial fabrics. 
 

情境說明:

在1964年訂定全羊毛的標示，並在1970年增了混紡羊毛的標示，凡掛有這個標示者，則表該羊毛製品合乎國際羊毛局的檢定水準，且具有優的品質。

2. Dialogue 

Nancy：  When natural cotton, flax, wool, and silk are produced less in     quantity, are there substitutions?

Jennifer： We can substitute wool with artificial acrylic fiber, and replace cotton with rayon.

Nancy：  The bouncy fabric makes the clothes become lively.  What   

           kinds of clothes consist of 80% of bouncy fabric?

Jennifer：  Those clothes made of Lycra bouncy fabric.  The design of   women’s dresses aims at sexiness and tightness, using clothes to manipulate beautiful female figure, such as knitting clothes, evening gowns, and jeans.   

Nancy： Fire-resistant fabric is widely applied in children’s pajamas    and curtains.  What kinds of fabric are suitable for this purpose? 

Jennifer：  Modacrylic fabric is very difficult to catch fire and can put out fire on its own.  Glass fiber, which is completely fire-resistant, can be used for hotel curtains, baby’s rooms, and public places.     

Nancy： Natural and artificial fabrics have strong and short points.  How do we take advantage of the strong points of each fabric?

Jennifer：  We can mix natural and artificial fabrics, such as cotton and tetron.  The mixed product has an appealing appearance, endurance, comfort, and is easily washable. 

Nancy： In addition to fire-resistant fabrics, what other fabrics make suitable family cloths?

Jennifer：  Mixed fabrics are also very important in making bed sheets, tablecloth, curtains and sofa cloth.

Nancy：  There are global green campaigns.  What is the value of recycling plastic bottles?

Jennifer： It can be remade into polyester knitting, weaving, nonwoven, or other cloths to suit the demand of the market.  These fabrics are good for making uniforms, sports wears, bags, hats, curtains, and table cloths.

Nancy：  In addition to making clothes and household products, is tetron fiber good for making fillings?

Jennifer： For instance, they can make good filling stuff for pillows, quilts, bed covers, and winter jackets.

Nancy：  What kind of fabric are bullet-proof vests made of?

Jennifer：  Aramid is capable of high strong, excellent stretching, high         temperature-resistance, chemical resistance.  For example, Kevlar29 fiber is good for making bullet-proof vests.

Nancy：   When making, fixing clothes or cutting the cloth, the edge of the cloth tends to break off.  How do we deal with that?

Jennifer：  We can apply locking on the edge of cloth to prevent it from breaking off.

Nancy：  Some clothes we wear are tight, and some are thin.  Is it because of different knitting?

Jennifer：  Clothes can be produced by weaving、knitting、nonwoven….
