ACHARYA P C RAY AWARDS AND AMBUJA’S BEST DESIGN PROJECT REPORT AWARDS,  2008

(For Final year Undergraduste Students of Chemical Engineering) 
 

1. With a view to commemorating the Late Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray, the founder of the Indian School of Chemists, and to encouraging talented young students of Chemical Engineering, the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers awards, since the year 1978, two prizes annually for the best and the second best project reports on Plant Design prepared by the final year undergraduate students of Chemical Engineering in part fulfillment of the requirements of the final examination for the first degree in Chemical Engineering :

            First Prize     :  a certificate and Rs. 1,000/-  cash award

Second Prize :           a certificate and Rs.    500/-    “        “ 
 

2. Subsequently, with the financial support from Ambuja Educational Institute, the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers has instituted, since the year 2001, three prizes annually based on the same criteria as those of the Acharya P C Ray Awards.

            First Prize     :  a certificate and Rs. 10000/-  cash award

Second Prize :          a certificate and Rs.  8,000/-    “        “

Third Prize    :           a certificate and Rs.  7,000/-    “        “ 
 

3. Both the Awards are open to all final year undergraduate students of Chemical Engineering of any University or constituent/affiliated colleges in India-appearing in the final examination for the first degree during May-June, 2008.

4. The awards for the year 2008 will be presented to the selected students during the 4^th Annual Session of Students’ Indian Chemical Engineering Congress, Schemcon 2008 of the Institute to be held during September 26-27, 2008 at Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar.

5. Interested students are requested to apply through the Head of the Chemical Engineering in the prescribed form obtainable from him with a copy of the Project Report of Plant Design prepared for submission in part fulfillment of the requirements of the final examination.

6. The applications along with a copy of the project report should reach the Honorary Secretary of the Institute within 17^th July, 2008.

7. Interested final year students may please contact the Head of the Chemical Engineering Department for the application form and other particulars.
