   何玉龙博士1999年于英国剑桥大学获博士学位,之后分别在剑桥大学病理系及芬兰赫尔辛基大学/Ludwig肿瘤研究所做博士后及研究员;主要研究血管与淋巴管的发育调控、以及肿瘤血管/淋巴管生成在肿瘤生长与转移过程中的作用及分子调控机制,取得了一定的成绩。在国际重要刊物包括《JNCI: Journal of the National Cancer Institute》,《Cancer Research》,《Circulation Research》等刊物上发表SCI论文13篇,其中第一作者6篇,参与两项专利申请。有关血管、淋巴管与肿瘤转移方面的研究论文被SCI引用总数达635篇次,其中6篇第一作者论文被SCI引用次数大于400篇次,单篇最高被引用次数达156篇次。 
 

   申请人主要学术成绩包括:

   1)揭示了体内VEGF-A生物活性调控的一个新机制,即VEGF-A受体FLT-1信使RNA不同剪接在调控VEGF-A生物活性上起重要作用(He et al., Mol Endocrinol 1999 13: 537-45; Clark et al., Biol Reprod 1998 59:1540-1548); 
 

   2)首次证实了抑制肿瘤淋巴管新生能阻断淋巴性肿瘤转移,并进一步阐明了血管内皮细胞生长因子受体-3 介导的淋巴管内皮细胞激活在肿瘤细胞入侵及经淋巴管转移过程中起关键作用(Cancer Research 2005, 第一作者Biochim Biophys Acta 2004, 第一作者;Journal of the National Cancer Institute 2002, 第一作者),此研究结果首次为阻断VEGFR-3信号传导能抑制肿瘤淋巴管新生及肿瘤转移到淋巴结的假设提供了直接的实验依据,对于理解肿瘤淋巴性转移的分子调控机制及进一步应用于临床有重要意义

   在《J Natl Cancer Inst》同期配发了由美国哈佛大学Drs.RK Jain & TP Padera掇写的评论文章,“Prevention and treatment of lymphatic metastasis by antilymphangiogenic therapy”(Editorials in J Natl Cancer Inst 2002 94:785-87 by RK Jain & TP Padera); 
 

   3)利用转基因及基因敲除小鼠模型证实,肿瘤的淋巴管新生源于周围组织的淋巴管内皮细胞,而不是源于骨髓来源的内皮细胞祖细胞(He et al., Cancer Res 2004 64:3737-40);在上述基础上申请人又研究了肿瘤转移的时相,并证实淋巴管新生是肿瘤细胞入侵淋巴管的必要过程(He et al., Cancer Res 2005 65:4739-46); 
 

   4)研制了两个具有不同肝素结合活性的重组淋巴管生长因子(Circulation Research 2007,共同第一作者),申请者制备了两个编码不同肝素结合活性的重组VEGF-C。重组VEGF-C由于其具备了肝素结合活性,能诱导更有规则的淋巴管生长,具有重要的临床应用意义,有两项与此研究成果有关的专利正在申请中。
