Advanced Pediatric Nursing II (426 M0220 M0240) 
 

    Course Description 
     

      The purpose of the courses is to enhance graduate students’ ability to critically analyze theories relevant to pediatric nursing. Particularly, students’ ability to apply those selected theories to clinical situations on an operational basis is emphasized. In addition, students will be expected to develop a preliminary conceptual model to explain a potential clinical phenomenon of children during the developmental process. 
     

    Course objectives

    1. To promote knowledge and understandings of cognitive theory, developmental theory, role theory and system theory.

 
 

    1. To guide students how to match concepts attached to each theory with clinical manifestation as revealed by the clients during the process of children’s development.

 
 

    1. To postulate propositions from which hypotheses may be derived for testing the phenomenon of concern in pediatric nursing.

 
 

    1. To enable students to critically evaluate major nursing issues which hinder in upgrading the quality of pediatric nursing care.
