Missions and objectives The Interface Committees bring together different professional bodies with a scientific vocation and representatives of the Inserm research teams. Their main objective is to define joint promotional actions in the sector concerned, such as drawing up research programmes, putting forward themes for invitations totender or building research networks.

Set-up and projects implemented The Inserm – General Medicine Committee, founded following the 1 st General Medicine Research Congress (Toulouse, 1999), originally set itself two projects:- Carrying out an inventory of this kind of research in France: output - state and conditions; strengths and weaknesses; situation compared with other countries at the same level of development.- Structuring research into general medicine through the set-up of 6 or 7 inter-regional research units across France; their role will be to see programmes through, lead local networks and train general practitioners .Medicine eBooks
